The Property |

Villa la Fonte , also named 'Scaluccia' or 'Il Poggio', was built in Impruneta in the second half of the XVth century.
Until 20 years ago, the villa was mainly a farm which produces Chianti Classico wine and extra-virgin olive-oil.
Today the owner still produce an excellent olive-oil.
The villa, surrounded by 7 hectares of land with a beautiful 10 X 5 m. pool and an elegant chapel, it’s located on a hill only 3 km from Florence at the beginning of the Chianti area.
The villa is on 3 levels:
The family entrance leads to 2 communicating living-rooms: one large drawing-room with an incredible piano which is not available for the guests use (as Mrs Mazzonis is a famous piano musician...) and one library/living room furnished with built-in wooden book cases and a fireplace. A small gallery nearby leads to the guests bathroom and French windows in both rooms open directly onto the garden where in a shady protected area stands a slid stone table.
A lovely sixteen century staircase with ‘pietra serena’ arches leads to the upper floor where the master bedroom, a second bedroom, two bathrooms, a small drawing-room. All of them have view on the garden and on the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
From the landing of the lower level, depart 2 different areas: the guest area in one direction and the kitchen area in the other. The guest area includes 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a sauna.
A corridor leads to the large kitchen furnished with traditional Tuscan pieces of furniture. There is a laundry room with washing-machine, dryer and iron.
Great French windows connect the kitchen to the lower garden where there is an elegant stone and marble table, chairs and sofas which make dining and relaxing outdoors pleasant even during the heat of the summer.
The upper and lower gardens are connected by a stone staircase and another entrance gate to the lower garden and kitchen area makes loading and unloading supplies convenient.

How to arrive |

A1 from Rome direction North.
Exit at Florence Certosa and at the croos road turn to the left direction Florence centre.
After few meters on the right side of the street, turn to the right following signs for Le Rose in a uphill and small road.
Go straight for 2 km direction Impruneta and Baruffi.
After Baruffi, go straight and you will find on the right side of the street of via Quintole per le Rose, the number 75.
You are arrived.
Mrs and Mr Mazzonis, the owners, awaits you.
