Barbialla Nuova is an estate of 500 hectares half of which is occupied by cultivated and grazing fields, the other half by an age-old wood rooted in tufa (volcanic rock). Its soft hills are notably reminiscent of the Sienese landscape and its lush oak woods are rendered unique by the phenomenon of calanchi (erosion furrows) – spectacular precipices that open up within the rock itself. The land, through its intrinsic nature and as a result of management, has several unique features that distinguish it from the typical morphology of the Tuscan countryside. It does not feature the typical geometrical shapes of vineyard and olive groves, instead it has preserved a wilder, more rugged appearance, which is no less enchanting. The natural predisposition of the land to the raising of the highly-regarded chianine cows and the presence of white truffles has allowed the farm management to concentrate their efforts on producing goods of highly refined quality.

Accommodation is provided in 3 traditional farmhouses, known as Doderi, Brentina and Trosce.
They have been renovated respecting their original structures and adopting our well-loved policy of retrieval and reuse of original materials. The new interventions were carried out placing great attention on the criteria of bio-compatibility.

The features of the apartments and their furniture were chosen in order to offer the feel and comfort of a private house and not just a hotel. Each individual object was chosen with care, as were the colours and lights. The apartments are deliberately without television or air-conditioning; instead, books and stereos are provided.

The outsides of the farmhouses were restored so as to blend in to the surrounding countryside as harmoniously as possible; facilities have also been provided so that quiet moments outdoors may be enjoyed.

Doderi 2 apt.:
Doderi is a typically Tuscan casa colonica (traditional farmhouse), located on the top of a hillock and surrounded by olive groves. It is situated at the meeting point between the cultivated area and the oak woods; at 20 minutes’ walk from the lake, it is the point of departure of numerous pathways. The vegetable gardens, orchard and hen-house, run by Imperio, offer organic products on a daily basis.
The laundry area is available to all guests.
Dogs and other animals are allowed in the house
45 square metres, kitchen/living room with fireplace, one double room, one bathroom. Located on the ground floor, this apartment avails of its own private outdoor space and boasts a charming view over the olive grove.

Doderi 4 apt.:
75 square metres, kitchen/living room, one double bedroom with private bathroom, another double bedroom, bathroom.
Distinguished by its large living area, which overlooks the portico, the apartment avails of two independent entrances.

Brentina est 4 (east) apt.:
110 square metres, kitchen/living room, one suite, one double room with private bathroom.
This apartment on two floors has a large fireplace in its living area. All the bedrooms have private bathrooms and magnificent views. The gorgeous suite has a small living room with a couch-bed.

Brentina Ovile 4(sheepfold) apt.:
100 square metres, kitchen/living room, one double bedroom with private bathroom, another double bedroom, bathroom.
This apartment contains a large living space spread over two levels, with some boasting magnificent views. The traditional ceiling with exposed beams has been perfectly preserved.

Doderi 6 apt.:
150 square metres, kitchen/living room, lounge, two double bedrooms with private bathrooms, another double bedroom, bathroom.
Located on the first floor, this apartment has a private portico, a large living area with fireplace and a lounge that can comfortably sleep two people on a couch-bed. All the rooms boast magnificent views.

Brentina ovest 6 (west) apt.:
145 square metres, kitchen/living room, one general bathroom, one suite, two double rooms with private bathrooms.
This apartment has similar characteristics to the apartment described above; in addition, it has a bedroom with an independent entrance.

Le Trosce villa. Surface: (315 square metres - 8 pax)
An independent farmhouse, located on the top of a hill with a panoramic view, it can comfortably house eight people.

It is composed by 4 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom with tub, 1 bathroom with shower, a kitchen, a covered verandah, a living room with fire place, a reading and film room, 1 toilet.
Facilities are:
A private swimming pool, an outside verandah, a barbeque, a dishwasher, a satellite TV, a video tape recorder, a piano, a stereo, a covered parking place, 4 fire places, indipendent entrance to night zone.
Dogs and other pets are accepted.

COOKING COURSES
The estate produces gastronomic articles the highest quality, such as organically-grown chianine meat, white truffles and extra-virgin olive oil; the vegetables, fruit, chickens, game and salami produced are also rigorously organic. Every Friday, with the help of an expert, we will demonstrate the preparation of some regional dishes, so that the pleasure of your stay may be enhanced by an appreciation of the tastes and odours of local products. The cooking course will not have a formal structure, instead it will take the form of an open kitchen in which one can participate in all phases of the preparation of dishes, while sipping wine and enjoying good music.

SEARCHING FOR TRUFFLES
Barbialla Nuova is located in the centre of an area famous for its San Miniato white truffles, this is one of the few areas in the world where this rare and precious tuber is found.
All'Inside an exclusive reserve you can share the experience of searching for truffles in the company of experienced truffle finders.
From October to December (booking required), small groups – maximum six people – will meet in the early morning and set off into the woods to observe the activities of specially-trained dogs, whose ultra-developed sense of smell locates the truffles. The search lasts about three hours.

CULTURE
Barbialla Nuova was set up with the intention of combining the beauty of nature with the beauty of art. The barn of the Brentina house has been dedicated to cultural initiatives; this structure was recently renovated in order to house events such as exhibitions, cinema screenings and concerts. The space will also be made available for photographic workshops and yoga courses. Because of the seasonal nature of the events proposed, we cannot provide more detailed information at the moment with regard to dates and costs, but as soon as this information is known to us we will make it available.

From the north (A1) and north-east (Florence, Prato ecc.):
take the S.G.C. FI-PI-LI at Firenze Signa in the direction of Pisa, exit at San Miniato and follow the indications for Montaione; one kilometre after the town of Corazzano on your right you will see indications for the farmhouse vacations (agriturismo) of Barbialla Nuova.

From the west (A12):
take the S.G.C. FI-PI-LI at Pisa in the direction of Florence (Firenze), exit at Montopoli in Val d’Arno and head to La Serra and then Corazzano; one kilometre after the town of Corazzano on your right you will see indications for the farmhouse vacations (agriturismo) of Barbialla Nuova.

From the south:
arrive to Siena, then take the Firenze-Siena superstrada in the direction of Florence (Firenze), exit at Poggibonsi and follow the directions for San Gimignano, then for Montaione; having passed the town of Montaione in the direction of San Miniato, continue for about 9 kilometres and then you will see the indications for the farmhouse vacations (agriturismo) of Barbialla Nuova on your left.
